Splint - Traction Adult (Davis/Hare)

The purpose of traction on a fractured femur is to align the fragments, relieve pain, prevent damage to nerve or vascular structures and minimize blood loss.

* Traction with the Davis Splint causes alignment of the fractured area, assisting to bring femoral fragments back to their original position. This not only helps to restore tissue pressure in the injured leg, but inhibits further hemorrhage/shock and additional nerve, vascular, bone and muscular damage.
